The Rome Temple Site (Part 2)

This is the view from the street level.  The fence is very high and it is difficult to see the progress of the Temple!

This is what can be seen from the other side of the street!  When we first arrived here in October, we couldn't see anything.  They had just started to pour the basements and foundations!

This is another view from the street level further down the street.  There are four different buildings being built at the same time.  The Temple, the Patron Center, the Visitors Center and the Rome Stake Center.

This picture is taken from standing up on a brick partition looking over the fence.  When the security guard saw us taking pictures over the fence, he came driving off the Temple grounds very fast, and started shouting at us to get down......."You must get down right now!!!  The other security guard is crazy and he has a gun and he will shot you!!!"

This is the Rome Stake Center.
This is a picture of the Temple from across the highway.  We are standing on the  top of a building.

As you can see the Patron Center left of the Temple is progressing and they are working on the roof.

This shot gives you a better look at the Patron Center.

The people here are so thankful for the opportunity to have a Temple close by!  The closest Temple to Rome is the Swiss Temple which is 12 hours away, one way.

The main entrance to the Temple will be through these trees.  The Stake Center is behind the trees and the Visitor's Center is to the left.

We are very happy and excited for the Rome Temple!!!

Love you all!  The Kruegers

  1. Hi Elder and Sister Krueger. My name is Melissa (Walch) Rozsa. You met our son and his new bride yesterday or the day before, Jordan and Nicole Rozsa, who are on their honeymoon. Thank you so much for posting these pictures. I served my mission in Rome from 1984-1986 and can't wait for the temple to be built. What a wonderful place to serve your mission. My first area was in E.U.R. and we took 2 buses to get to the chapel on Via Bra, 34. As I recall, there were about 10 members who attended. And now it is a ward. This is just wonderful. Enjoy those wonderful Italians and I can’t wait to hear more of your mission. Are you in that ward on Via Bra? Ciao miei amici.

    1. Ciao from Rome! Thank you for your comment. We enjoyed getting to know your son, Jordan and Nicole. We gave them a ride and we were able to talk and get to know them a little. They are sure sweet and we are very happy for them! My husband served here in the Rome Mission from 1975-1977. I waited for him and we married 30 days after he got home from his mission! Our call here is to open a Center for young adults. We arrived in October 2011 and opened the Center in November on Via Bra, 34. We meet in the Relief Society room. We attend the ward here and it is a wonderful ward! The Roma Uno ward is doing very well and there are approximately 130 members who attend each week! Thanks again! Sorella Krueger

  2. After reading your blog, I gained new information about the said place. What makes your blog more interesting to read is the fact that you have included pictures in your post.
