Our trip to the Island of Sardegna

..
We were asked by our Mission President to go to the Island of Sardegna and inspect the apartments of the young missionaries.  We took a ferry and took our car with us!!!  We had to wait in a very long line with about 300 other cars!

While we were waiting, we found our new mission car!!!  Yellow is a good color!!!  We need a fast car to be able to get to our appointments on time!  Right?

Anziano Krueger looks pretty awesome next to this 599 Ferrari!!!  We were very impressed with the way the ferry came into port!  The "Moby Tommy" backed in very fast and lowered the ramp for the cars as it was backing up!

You can see all of the cars lined up on the left of this picture and the ships and ferries are waiting in the harbor.  We thought we were going to drive onto one of the ferries waiting right next to the pier.  But then....

Within minutes.....this huge ship/ferry backed into the harbor between the other ships!!!  All of the ropes were flying off the ship and onto the harbor!  We were so impressed!

All of the people waiting by their cars were all watching and we thought this process would take a long time. We were thinking this would take hours.....the ferry pulled in 5 minutes before we were suppose to leave!

The ramp is lowering here and everyone was taking pictures and amazed how fast the ship came in.

These men were really top of things!  They caught the ropes exactly when they were suppose too!  The ramp started to lower, off the back of the ferry, way before the ferry was in port!

We were surprised that the ferry was pretty nice.  There were a lot of people!  We were able to take the fast ferry over to the Island, so we were on the ferry for about 5 hours.

This is the first view we had of the Island!  It was starting to get dark.

Sardegna is very beautiful!  The water is a beautiful turquoise color close to shore!

Most of the beaches were rocky but beautiful!

We were very surprised to find a real Church built Chapel!  We have only seen two other Chapels that are actually built by the Church!

This is Anziano Miller and Viglieti.  They are great missionaries!

This is Anziano Wright and Anziano Perera.

This is Anziano Lemon and Anziano Bringhurst.

This is Sorella Camp and Sorella Openshaw.  Their apartment was about 150 degrees!!!

We met at the Church and had a very special spiritual discussion!

This is the ship we took back to Rome.

This is the view we saw as we left Sardegna.  We traveled from Cagliari (which is at the bottom of the Island) to Civitavecchia.  Our trip was 12 hours!!!  We had to sleep on the ferry.....in chairs and on the floor.

These are our overnight accomadations!  These chairs were so uncomfortable I slept on the floor!!!!
